Hi everyone,

I made a post a few months ago about my Td4 Freelander having some electrical problems. At that point, we were unable to unlock the car even begin to diagnose the problems.

Fast forward to now, we have finally managed to get the drivers door unlocked, by putting a coat hanger down between the drivers window and the door frame. None of the other doors will unlock, and very few of the interior electrics work.

All of the lights are still functioning fine (barring one of the lower lights in the rear bumper which is like an aquarium) as is the horn and windscreen wipers. Inside, the blower works, but there is no life from the stereo, clock, windows, heated seats or mirrors.

When we put the key in the ignition and switch it on, the red immobiliser light flashes at a constant rate. Keeping the key turned, the engine turns over (after a few seconds of nothing) and the fuel pump can be heard, but the car will not start.

At the moment, the car cannot be easily moved as it isn’t insured, taxed or mot’d. We do have access to a donor car to pick parts from, but have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this, or the best place to start swapping parts?

Many thanks in advance!
