Electric paint guns

anybody used the electric airless spray guns for bodywork, must be better than my brush painting

just wondered what are they like for giving a neat finish and cleaning

Airless, they are brill, 2liters per min output do a land rover in about 5 mins, take you a day to mask it up though. They are designed for large areas I have used petrol ones for houses and gas lines etc. They take alot of cleaning out afterwards you have to flush thru the hose, ok with water based but solvent takes alot of thinners. What model are you after?

if you mean the 'earlex' electric type guns they aren't all that, i bought one to do my fence and shed with. gives a very splatty finish and would probably leave more runs than a brush would on a car

The waxoil presuere pumps are great, but you must pump them up untill air starts escaping from the dump valve or there ****e.

havent looked much as yet , what are you using?

earlex? splattery , uneven finish , ok fer wood preserver or wood worm killer, solvents or metalic paint fecks the noozle up ! and no good fer waxoil or underseal , unless thinned with petrol and the gun dumped after the job !
if yer want an affordable spray gun , i have 4 of the screwfix gravity feed guns ther bout £20 each and are a top finish if they are looked after , cleaned every time with thinners or gun wash, and dried out . you will need a compressor tho !

yeah, pleasently suprised how good it was, not the cheapist thing out , but does what it says on't tin 8/10 , i'v only used it on railings so far mind

right it were £30 ish so might give it a punt

Airless, HVLP, (high volume low presure) Gravity fed, what system are you after? I normally hire one when I need one. If you go to a decorating shop and pretend you are interested in an "AIRLESS" system they sometimes send you on a demo!

After spraying an etch primer from a rattle can, it made sense to consider spraying rather than painting using a brush/roller. (Rims, body panels) Rebuilding a 1974/1975 Landy on a budget

Rather than buy a compressor and all the kit that goes with it, this erbauer erb561srg electric sprayer looked interesting from screwfix

Has anyone tried something like this to spray a vehicle. I'm concerned it is designed to spray wooden fences. The reviews seem to indicate it's a proper sprayer.

Tried to paint a mini with one of those once, terrible almost textured finish. Decent rattle cans are better.

had one years ago, it was good for the first few times, then when not cleaned well, it turned into a splatter gun, i guess water based is much better now

This was sprayed with one of them HVLP jobbies.

Used to stock them when they first came out. They worked well enough on railings but the 'Hammerite' was not the same as you got in a tin. Don't think we sold any in 5 years. And they didn't work too well if it was windy.

mine lives in its box after 2 uses in the same amount of years it had so much potential ..............
