Three months into owning a 2001 TD5, I'm learning a lot about my first Land Rover......however, the passenger side mirror has become loose - like, hanging on by two wires before I taped it back into place.
I think someone hit it when it was parked in London recently.
Now, I live in France, the car is LHD, and bits here are more expensive than in the UK.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix the mirror back without contacting the local main dealer?
The motor works on moving the moirror around, so it just seems to be a matter of sticking it back in place. Pushing it doesn't work, and I can't see any broken fixings, but then I don't really know what I'm looking for.
I don't see how the mirror housing comes apart - does it?
Grateful for any advice.
Regards

get a tube of gripfill, podge a load inbetween the mirrir and the bracket then push the two togwther, scape off any excess with yer finger and wedge something against it till it goes hard, once its hard, paint it black to match the mirror. it will look a bit bodged but other than that you will have to buy a new mirror ;)

Many thanks for the advice, I had been thinking of using the extra strong sticky pads used for number plates.
I reckon anything must be chearper than buying a new mirror......
Regards.
