egr

Hi, have been reading thread on mpg, where can u get an egr blanking plate and where does it fit on the valve. Have been told that if you remove the small black pipe at the valve end and put a screw in it and then put the pipe it does the same job (true). Cheers, hairy.

sounds like a 300.

get a plate from ebay, but more importantly get some WD40 on the bolts NOW before it turns up, then again tomorrow and every day till you're ready to do the work...

if it 's a 300 you'll need the top air hose as well.. you can get the whole lot for about £20.

plate goes straight onto the exhaust manifold with two bolts... get your WD40 on them

£20? i got one for 7.50, plate, gasket and longer bolts, do i need more now?

Might as well ask here seeing as its related, whats all that gunk in the air pipes? and should i clean it out?

yeh £7.50 for a plate and £13 for a new top air hose... (300TDi) that way you can junk the whole EGR...

all that gunk in the air pipes is the residue from the EGR... clean it out!

yah, i dont get you at all, do you just mean the intercooler to air intake on the engine hose?

is it just any hose that'll do, well, obv the right bore, which is? where dose it go?
