EGR Removal on 300 TDi - extra hoses???

Hi, I'm trying to remove the EGR on a '98 300TDi, by following the procedure here:

Difflock: Modifications

However the EGR on my engine looks like this:

What do the extra 2 smaller hoses do?

Can I still remove the EGR?
