I removed the EGR valve 2 years back with a kit from ebay which came with some small blanking tubes that go on what I can only assume is a vacuum manifold, the one that you remove the pipes from.I recently had my td5 fail its mot on brake efficiency due to a knackered servo so I replaced it with a new one.
When I was replacing the fuel pressure regulator a week later and as I was putting everything back together,I noticed that the blanks supplied with the EGR kit had perished and split to such an extent that they could not possibly have retained a vacuum.Silicone sealant and a couple of self tappers to the rescue!
The point of this post is-could this have affected the brake servo to such an extent that it failed an MOT ?
cheers
