I've had the problem of my TD4 loosing all of the coolant in the header tank recently, which I was told was a leak on the EGR cooler. I was advised to fit the EGR mod and block of the cooler to fix this. I have fitted the EGR blanking plate at the weekend, abut am a bit unsure as to where the 2 cooler pipes are that I either need to block or join? Does anyone have a picture of their location, and are they just silicone pipes or metal?

Cheers,
Warren.

No coolant on EGR, as far as I know
info i have here sais an egr cooling unit was added to the auto-gearbox td4's
( op's profile doesn't state what gearbox .. 'n i don't feel like trawling thru 69 posts
( to find out if it were mentioned ..

can't comment regarding coolant hose arrangement ..
have seen pics .. but info seems a bit confusing ..
and not really looked at mine closely enough back there .. to see if one is fitted or not
( i.e. when playing about in the engine bay .. haven't noticed anything like the pic above .. )
mine's a manual gearbox .. so unless they added one later to manual jobs ..
it probably does not exist on mine ..

surely the coolant hose arrangement be a simple 'in' and 'out' ..
or is that not the case ???
be plenty of pics of the unit via google ..
plus 1 'landrover workshop' article about the egr coolant hoses'
with a pic or two ..
( was still confused after reading it :) )

post-note : the Haynes manual mentions the cooling unit
but .. no pic .. and just sais disconnect the coolant hoses / or reverse thereof ..
