My 300tdi auto 'check engine' light came on earlier and it lost all power.I was doing about 50 at the time.I was setting the cruise control,but don't know if it is linked to the problem.
The engine will start and tickover no problem,but as soon as the throttle is pressed,the check light comes on and the engine will only pick up slightly to 1000rpm.The temp is ok and everything else seems ok.I've checked all fuses and connections and seem ok.
The engine has recently been rebuilt and has been in and out a few times with various things going wrong.(I wasn't doing the job by the way)
The mechanic who did all the work had a quick look this evening when he picked it up and is just as baffled as me except he did mention the possibility of the crankcase sensor being faulty/damaged.
Any ideas greatfully recieved as need it on the road.
