Hi, so if anyone followed my adventure on the what did you do disco today, I think I've come to the conclusion to sell the damaged vehicle as transport is proving too expensive. Friend listed it on a Romanian website and straight away had offers for 1000 euro plus, so cut my losses I think thats the best, might even get 1500. But.... but I have a only just 250 quid remapped ECU in there... they ain't having it! :p My question is, can I go pick up a scrappy ECU from the same disco (auto) and put it in there... and are the keyfobs programed to the ECU? I have a hawkeye tool with me so could this help or does the locking system have a separate ECU... so basically is it a simple plug and play job with ECU's?..
Thanks

Not plug and play, first read the injector codes from your ECU and write them on a paper, disconnect the battery, swap ECUs reconnect the battery, go to Immobiliser - learn security code, then save the injector codes in the replacement ECU, job done, the ECU should match the vehicle's motor too so if it's 10P engine you neeed a MSB101192 or MSB101193 and if it's 15+P NNN000130 or NNN500030 the throttle tracks must be saved the same as well

Think things just got a little complicated for me
Will see if the scrap company will take without ECU maybe, thanks for the info though

no clear guide afaik... the tool's menu is quite self explanatory, select EMS-Td5 and in the programming section you find the injector codes and read, then in the Immobiliser follow the steps to learn security code
