Hi,

I have the usual 3 amigos issue.
Have replaced the brake switch and the sensor on the wheel which I was told was faulty (garage said it was contacting the wheel), now they say it's probably the ECU.
Does this sound likely or just garage flannel? I'm told these are expensive but I'll be looking for a used one probably.

Cheers

Found a used one for £47 including VAT and delivery.
Now the garage says it's not the ECU, that was someone who didn't understand. It's the G-sensor (my car has Gs?) and one was delivered from LR today and is being fitted.
Go figure :/

yes the g sensor is the gravity sensor located next to the handbrake have you done any work on you hand brake? i did and dislodged the conector found and and pluged it back in and lights went off but they do fail from time to time

I haven't (although I did need to remove the center console over a year ago) but the garage has as they said the handbrake was loose and needed adjusting.
I'm not sure which end this needed doing from, but I guess if it was the lever end maybe it was them.

Ok, so apparently it's NOT the G-sensor.

"It could be the ABS ring where the old ABS sensor was rubbing on it, or it could be the non-genuine ABS sensor you gave us. Or then again it could be the ECU."

Nothing like quality diagnosis.

Don't they have a multimeter?
