The engine management light came in and the engine lost power and just died on my td4 breakdown people said they not allowed to diagnose so they just towed me home and there it's sat since Saturday any advise plz

Mmm , so TWO threads.

When was it last serviced ?
Have you heard any 'strange' noises from either the engine area or the rear wheel arch ?
Any 'duck type noises ?
Has the vehicle had an EGR bypass ?

Any warning lights apart from the EM mentioned elsewhere (for the 40yrds) ?
Has it been anywhere near a garage with diagnostics etc ?

I just had it diagnostics and they said fuel pump was that u was saying about under wheel arch that's where they say it is thanks for the help in useless about owt macanicle thanks

Ah, yes the fuel pump in the arch can make some strange noises, like a ticking bomb -:D
Have read through some of the threads, it may save you some worry and you'll learn a bit, we all have to start somewhere.
Post-2003 has a single pump that is up under the wheel arch (drivers side rear).
Apparently its a bastid of a job

The pump sits in a plastic tray along with the fuel filter.
Disconnect the in and out pipes and remove the tray complete with pump and filter.
Replace both items with the tray on the bench.
Dismantling the tray further gets better access.
If there is no complications it a 45 min job :D:cool:
