Hello, good evening and welcome (now who was it use to say that) and the car is a ??????
On a sport / D3 , When the EPB lever is pulled over 6.25mph it activates the abs and applies the disc brakes , the hand brake shoes won’t be applied on until the speed drops below 1.5mph
So by pulling the EPB lever at speed ur pulling ur brakes on not ur handbrake , otherwise it would be like doing a handbrake turn
Best to get it plugged into diagnostics

Am I missing something here? Why would anyone pull on their EPB at speed?
Not at speed lol. Slow speed to actually see if it's working whilst moving

for emergency reasons , lol
Think one of the design thoughts, is so a passenger can pull the EPB lever in an emergency if the driver becomes unwell

Lol, That’s the thing , even at low speeds the EPB will apply the brakes and not the handbrake shoes
Can’t test the epb handbrake like that , Totally different beast to the conventional handbrake
Have u just bought the vehicle , is it a RRS plse, as indeed the more details u can provide it just gives us a far better picture

I know, was just me mentioning the emergency situation,
Assume the op thought the epb was like a conventional handbrake system

So are we guessing car in nuetral apply hand brake and car still moves ?

Any body seen any news about a Land Rover (model not know`n ) rolling off a cliff somewhere because the handbrake not working, just wondering like.

See that over on fullfat other day, reckon he was seeing if it was like them old daf 33 just as fast in reverse as forward !
