Hey,
So my alternator went faulty on my discovery 1 so I swapped it for the one off my defender.
Both 1995 and both 300tdi.
Now it's eating the aux belt.
Are the alternator pullies different or am I missing a vital line up trick?

Looks like I may have fitted a new belt that was too short when I serviced it last year!
I never knew there was two lengths!
I know all about it now and why after lots of reading.
Just need to measure the alternator pulley
But I know I fitted the shorter 1580 belt.
Shuvks
