anyone use this stuff now a bit cold, On all my diesels over the last 40 years had to give them a sniff of it now and then, even with new glow plugs, never had a engine blow or wear out, not used it yet on the gaylander.

Really?

I assume you live in UK and not Siberia?

If your car will not start unaided during a British winter, there is something wrong with the car - pre-heat circuit, air leak, pump pressure, injectors.....there are many reasons a diesel will be slow to start that are exacerbated by the cold.
Fix the problem, don't try to cure the symptoms.

Good God!

I agree with Dave.

I do have a can of 'Easy-Start' type spray - it goes with me to Bosnia Hercegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and such like places when I go there in the winter where the temp can get down to -25 degrees C or so.

I've never needed to use it yet.

The M47R is an easy motor to start when cold. Only a glimpse of the glow=plugs usually when it's below zero.

I've also got a can of diesel anti-wax additive which I've never needed either.

Singvogel.

In 13 years of owning mine ive never had a problem with cold starting, the other year it was minus 10 and granted it cranked a couple of times more than usual before firing into life but at no time have i thought of even buying any starting aid, aslong as me battery is healthy ive never worried :)

had a early range rover with a yorkie diesel in, try to start one of those engines without easy start and a flame up the air intake, i would imagine a freelander with 3 glow plugs only working would take some cranking over in winter if it was outside,

it did, or a lit paper up the air intake, there are no heater plugs on a yorkie, some had one in air intake to warm air up but they never would start in winter.
