Well I've had many emails and quotes from the old country and such a variety of prices! Some parts have suspiciously low prices that I suspect their quality and life span.

I've tried to go for OEM or LR parts where critical.

I tried splitting my parts request between to well known suppliers to take advantage of savings, well over 100 pounds, but the freight cost kills the savings. It seem best to go with one supplier. Better still one has offered a 10% discount due to an accounting error made earlier in the year.

The bottom line is that the parts will cost as much as the car itself! Cheap runners here tend to be about $3 to $4k and they seem to have any where from 20 to 100km more on them. So I guess I'm still on for this, then here's the tyres...

Woo Whoo! Parts are on their way. Might be here by next week! Winter weekend fun under the car. Had our first snowfall too, only 3 cm where I live but 40km away where I work It was 20cm. Can't wait for a comfortable 4WD.
