Hi all

More EAS problems
Right I have the compressor not running all lights on and 35 max checking the orange wire of thermal switch by running a cable to Earth on body makes compressor come on but this is what I don't get, when I take cable off compressor runs fine from then on does this mean that the thermal switch is breaking down ? do they do that because I thought it would either work or not any ideas please from the font of knowledge is appreciated

Fist of all check contacts in plug and check earth point on wing behind EAS box.

Ok sorry for delay wammers but it did work fine but again last night on way home off she went again 35 max and all that jazz am rechecking the earth again today but I have a feeling it is the wiring loom from the ECU that may be the problem if so how difficult is it to change that out

Have a look at the white plugs and sockets behind the small trim panel left side of passenger footwell at base of A post. One of them is the interface to the EAS ECU from the height selector switch. Check for water damage and corrosion. Wire from thermal switch is Black/Purple and goes direct from compressor plug to pin 16 on EAS ECU continuity check it.

Okay nothing found wrong with the white socket so retried the orange lead and it has finally given in only works now when attached to lead and Earth on body so assume thermal switch was just about hanging on but has now given up the ghost but at least I know what to do now will attempt new switch first then new pump if it doesn't work thanks for your help wammers

No problem, a leg of the switch has been known to detach from board, may just need soldering. Good luck. ;)
