1996 2.5DT with about 125k on the clock, unknown if the suspension airbags have been changed.

Replaced the compressor but it hasnt made any difference, sitting on the bump stops. I have Datatek's cable and have tried resetting the "max speed 30mph" error, the compressor starts and even with the drivers door open (assume this prevents solenoids from opening) the compressor just keeps running... and running... etc

Am I right in thinking this would suggest the airbags are ok, and that the valve block o rings are ok?

Have been out with the soapy water and spray bottle.. no leaks to be seen. Perhaps i'm not spraying in the right place!

Any suggestions welcomed, My main car blew it's turbo earlier in the week and I really need the rangie back on the road asap as my main car wont be fixed for another 10 days.

Thanks

Keeping a door open gives the air tank a chance to fill, believe it takes 6 to 10 mins depending how good your compressor is. Try this first if your tank is empty, when you close the door it should rise. If it doesn't read Wammers "how to " guide and failing that we will hear from you soon.

Hi tomcat, have already tried keeping door open.. compressor keeps running. Until it got very hot and I switched it off, I didnt time it but was easily 10 minutes. Have read the howto - I dont see any specific problems that are not lifting, most seem to be slow to lift, dancing, not staying up etc.

Am going out to try removing the valve block to check the o rings/NRVs however have a feeling they wouldnt stop it lifting altogether.

Any way to check if pressure is building up in the tank without waiting to get the 12v for compressor cutoff?

Cheers

Either the compressor is fecked, or there is a leak on the storage side. Remove the exhaust filter on the EAS valve block and check for air coming out as a first step.

You didn't follow it very well then. If it has no air it won't lift, the guide is a logical progression to finding the cause of no air. Try doing it again follow all the steps.

Ok, it was quite some time ago I read the howto, got sidetracked and the RR has been sat for the last few months while other life stuff got in the way.

Long story short, the "reconditioned" compressor I got off eBay is scrap. Fitted the original compressor which I suspected as being sluggish, the rear lifts ok, the front lifts sometimes. Compressor stops and restarts quite quickly afterwards.

Have ordered a seal/diaphragm kit for the valve block and a seal kit for the compressor.

Will fit the above and re-read the howto before bothering anyone again.

It's more likely you have a leaking airbag than a valve block problem if the airbags are original.

I don't know about bothering. Everyone has to learn somehow. Where are you? Might be someone close who has been through this before. Actually, I think we've ALL been through this before.
