hi all. Just tried unlock suite and had a bit of bother. In the tx and rx both reading FF and 1. The status box is reading no idle but occasionally flashes green for a second then back to no idle. I have increased the idle delay but no change. the F8 F9 FA FB and FC boxes are reading 248 249 250 251 and 252 respectively. The fault box is full of faults. the heights in the calibrate section read from 229 up to 244 increasing by 1 in each box as you read down each column and left to right.

pressing the onlock button changes the values in the rx briefly but doesn't clear the faults.

I know this is a reccurring issue and you are probably fed up to the back teeth with it but any help would be great.
Cheers in advance,
Kieren.

You have a comms problem should be good idle steady green. The faults mean nothing. Any readings mean nothing. Until you get steady green good idle. If you are using a USB lead that could well be the problem.

wow, that was quick. I am using the cable supplied by datatek with a usb to serial adapter. i have installed the drivers for the adapter in Vista but am going to check it again shortly.

Keith (Data) is the guy to tell you about Vista and serial adaptors. I use a steam driven Dell on XP with a serial port and it works first time every time. The USB adaptors can be a bloody nightmare to sort out. Have you tried different ports?

Finally got it sorted. The problem was that the usb port i was using had been re-assigned to com 25 since i installed the drivers last night. Then came the next problem, the unlock suite only had options up to comm 12.
So, opened up the device manager, went to the advanced options for that port and changed it to comm 1. Restart the laptop and hey presto... beautifull green idle status and FF's galore.
Thanks to Datatek for the software and cable and everyone else for their help.
