EAS to spring conversion loom bypass

guys, As i wasnt enquiring about the merits of EAS I didnt go into a great deal of detail. As it stands, there are 3 faulty bags, the compressor is on its last legs and solonoid unit it sits in is also faulty. I understand that not everyone believes I have made the right decision, but as mentioned. the EAS is not the most reliable system out there even if l/r did spend millions on development and im sure other cars have springs? I would just like to get my rangy on the road. I didnt buy it for high speed manouvers, thats why I bought a CLK. I did state that I have kept all the parts. Thanks for your opinions, i did join this forum for input from experienced rangy owners, though i didnt expect that so many members would share their opinion so openly without actually being able to answer my questions.
I have also checked and there is no intention whatsoever to fail range rovers at MOT for this mod.
Thank you so much to the one member who offered the information I required.

Seems you have had sensible opinions from a lot of senior members. Even the jokey ones are making a good point; all based on members experience. The EAS system is very reliable (and superior/safer than a coil conversion) if kept in good condition. You cannot expect a system of some 15 years old with leaky airbags, worn compressor and failing valve block to be reliable.
Jury seems to be out on future mot rules.
As for britpart; every component I've got from them has been poor quality (about 5 items before I learnt my lesson). A window mechanism lasted just 4 months before it lost 2 cog teeth; a water pump imploded; viscous fan coupling made a sound like a jet engine; I did buy an oil filter from them which gave me no problems, but then it was changed a year later.
I'm guessing the opinions from other members are based on similar experiences.
I'd rather hear members opinions (and **** takes) rather than a straight Q&A forum.
Plus if Datatek reckons coils are dodgy, I'd take note.
Good luck with it anyway.:crazy_driver:

Its done now but unless your air compresor motor had burnt out pennies for a seal kit
Valve block unless valves so worn the they need replacing pennies for orings
Air bag £54 for a standerd one I would of though hight sensors would of been alright , they dont all goes at once.

Its only becuase people don't spot or do anything when needed and let things go adrift
I guess the system is scary to some and for those the easiest option is to fit coils I call it running away , but I do understand if you have no knowledge and don't want to get ripped off as a dealer would just say replace this and that.

But the point if a range rover is smoothness and comfort !

You might as well own a defender now as all I can say is enjoy your bumps.

Precisely, the Disco is basically a Rangie with coils (until that went air too of course) and less kit

In fairness, if you bought a Rangie with dodgy EAS (firstly you are a fool :p ) it would be a daunting task to find the root cause.. But if it's yours and you know what to watch for, it's very easy to keep in good shape :)

I am a fool then because I bought a P38 with faulty air suspension? I don't think so, I will fix the problem as I have just purchased new suspension bags and the repair kits.

The differance is you sound like you know what to do so your not a Fool are you :)

But if you didn't .....

I just think that if you buy a Range Rover, which has soooo much stuff that could go wrong, that has some known faults, it's just asking for trouble, because that means it will probably have faults you don't know about. I mean, if you knew the radiator was cracked say, that might seem an easy fix.. but probably means the rest of the cooling system is soon to go.. maybe it's already overheated and weakened the heat etc
And then of course if you don't know how to mend anything it's going to be even worse

The EAS is sooooo simple and cheap to fix, I'd buy one at the right price with duff EAS any day of the week.:D
