P38A EAS sagging across axels

Hi All

Hoping for some advice. EAS seems to be sagging across front to rear.

The rear right of my p38 has always felt a bit low, but never seems to drop over night like it would if it had a leak

Put the nanocom on today and it shows front left about 20 points above target, front right and rear left on target and rear right about 20 points below target at standard height.

I have done a soapy water test on the rear right and listed for a leak but can't hear anything.

RR raises and lowers normally except for the it always looks low at rear right

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Also Checked the valve status with these values an rear right was only valve open
 
There's no reset button, just set them all to a value, say 108 all around then see if it levels up. Measure each wheel and adjust the values to get the correct height. It doesn't have to be exact to the mm and you should be within 2 bits across an axle

Personally, I would raise the low corner to the correct level and write the bit count obtained back.
Resetting all to one number will ultimately lead to you having to adjust all corners. The front left is high due to weight transfer with the rear right dropping.
I suspect the airbag is leaking but sealing when it folds under.

Also Checked the valve status with these values an rear right was only valve open
+1 on weight transfer. Could be either due to RR leak, or FL getting additional air though a leaking corner valve in the block. A simple calibration using the measuring stick method would help. Also try to get the left-right values within 2-5bits of each other.

Re-reading that, I'm sure there is a leak on the right rear, that is why the valve is open, it's trying to raise that corner. I suggest you do not touch the current bit counts as they are within the expected range.
 
Thanks for the pointers, Not had time to do any time to look at her tonight, but will check over the airbag again.

My first though was a leak, but just can't find/hear it

Air bags can go porous. Mix some fairy liquid in a spray bottle so you get lots of thick suds then spray over the folks of the air bag at each height, you see the finest of leak if it's there
 
Personally I think the target values you show are plausible, but probably what you have is a rogue or damaged sensor... However... make some standard height calibration blocks, raise suspension to high and insert the blocks into the bump stops...now drop to access. The car will rest on the blocks... take the actual readings and report back. They should not be wildy different from left to right.. if they read like your actual values read above then I would check that one of the chassis mountings for the sensors has not taken a hit (which distorts the mounting/ alters the geometry), they do bend back..I fthere's no obvious physical damage then probably you need a new sensor, and probably best if you replace in pairs. They're also resistance based sensors, so you want to be sure there's a good connection
 
Had another look this evening and a play with the nanocom

Jacked the rear up and coated the right rear airbag with some of my daughters bubble solution and could not see any bubbles forming. Bags do look like they are in good condition

Having not got anywhere with a leak I got the nanocom out and took some more readings. Couple of thing I noted that I noted

Whole of the right hand side of the vehicle is slow to rise (with or without the driver)
At all levels the right rear is showing a low actual v's target (including access)
RR jerked a bit at one point as if something was stuck and the right rear came up to target at standard height, the immediately dropped again
Compressor may need a rebuild as it took 5 minutes to go from standard to full height (but Left side rose quickly - 30 secs - but front right took 4 mins and right rear never really got to full height)
compressor seems to run all the time

I am new to nanocom heaving only come back to p38 in the last year
Is there any where on nanocom I can see the air pressure at the pump?
Are there any tests I show do with nancom to check the valve block is working?

If wheels have been hanging then sensor can pick up dirt and cause erratic readings that can cause corners to do odd things. Often after a garage has had it on a 2 poster jack.

Go into the front left kick panel and check the white connectors for corrosion or a green tint. The norm is to cut those connectors out and solder the wires together. These deal with a lot of information passing within the car. Sound and suspension signals are affected in this area. 🤔👍

The fact that the car is rising tells you that the valve block is working. Slow to rise on one side still suggest a leak on that side as it doesn't reach the target height. Nothing to do with dirty sensors as the reading corresponds to the actual height. The fact that it jerked and then rose may indicate something is physically stopping it rising like a broken shock for example.
Get a set of manual inflation valves and blow each corner up manually and see if all 4 corners rise, then leave it overnight and see is one corner drops.
