eas reset?

I doubt it. but for about £15.00 you can get a lead and download free software that will do the job if it is a resetable fault. You will need a PC with a serial connector or a USB to serial port. Ebay is your place.

And as a subnote I would not disconnect the baterry unless you have to, you may give yourself bigger problems
