Hi all, my EAS has been working without a hitch in the 2 years I've had the car. However, since the start of the cold weather I've noticed that it takes a lot longer than normal to reach height/pressure.

It gets there eventually but can take 10mins at times. It a;lso seems to lose pressure/height for o apparent reason even while the engine is still running and it was OK.

I haven't touched the system at all (unless you count buying the EAS software :)) so the question: is there any area I should be looking at in particular or does it just sound like it needs a good old service? Also, what impact if any would a knackered dryer cannister charge have on the system?
 
Had simlar prods a couple of week ago, fitted new piston ring, cylinder and o ring to pump,stripped valve block and replaced all o rings and diafram, the diafram had split (comman) the lot cost short of £50. The o ringkit came with new bag rings as well but not fitted them yet, it was all very straight forward. Work in a nice clean and warm area as it takes around 2 hours to do it,work methodically one sol at a time as they may get mixed up if you strip them all at once. Be extra carefull with the non returns as thee are very small. Any white dust is good sign of dryer knackerd. Mines like new again, all parts on fleebay, lots of info on the tube, good luck, hpe this all helps
 
I did the rebuild on mine. It still does what the hell it wants when it wants! Sometimes when you restart after a shop stop, its in high then drops to normal height, sometimes it lifts to normal height and sometimes it takes for ever to lift! I've taken to lifting it up at the end of the day to off road height and dropping it down in the morning to normal height! Works for me...new air bags. New piston ring. New o rings and air dryer kit. No leaks no real answer! Its a land rover! Great car and massively complicated. Mines a 1999 and my 2005 Volvo (swearing) only has half the the gear the land rover thought of back then! Check all your airbags for leaks and the block with soapy water for bubbles!

One of the white plugs behind the trim panel at base of passenger footwell RHD or drivers side LHD, is the interface between the height selector switch and the ECU. Any corrosion or bad contact will give spurious signals. The height selector switch is not just a simple switch it is full of electronics and costs a bloody fortune to buy. So bad contacts at the plug will affect it. Early version AMR5823 is £354.01 and later version YUF101930 costs £381.74. Also dry or broken joints on the timer delay relay PCB board under passenger seat, can cause the ECU to be randomly switched off and on.
