Hi all,
Here another eas problem I m dealing with at the moment (p38 4.6 HSE, 1998):

Before reneving my valve block I had all sort of EAS faults but the suspension didn't sink at night.
After renewing the block all faults are gone. Everything works fine and since I m not having faults anymore (2 months nos).

But ... both front bags lower themselves at night. When I start the Rangie in the morning they come up in seconds. all high changes are fast and smooth.

I've sprayed soapy water everywhere. No bubbles.
Disconnected the EAS pipes and reconnected. Still droping.
Replaced front airbags. No joy.
The strange thing is that the rear bags stay up even if the EAS is not disabled. I thought the car would selflevel in those cases.

If I disable the EAS, both front bags drop and not only one.

I belive it's à leak. But where?
Internal leak in the valve block would be my first call.
Anyway, before disassembling it once again I would apreciate your opinion:
1. why only the front drops and the rear stays up?
2. is there any way to check for leaks in the block without taking it apart?

Many thanks for your help.

If it drops with the EAS disabled then it can only be a leak, as you have recently had the valve block apart, it could be that is where your problem lies in the form of a displaced "O" ring or two as you say the bags are not leaking.

Hi Data,
Thank you very much.
Yes it must be a leak. As soon as the temperature will rise a bit (-17 C at the moment) I’ll take the valve block out once again. As only the front bags drop I’ll check the o-rings going from the block in the front airbag lines as well as the o-rings of the 2 front bag solenoids.
Or should I also check the NRV?

Any idea why the car don’t level itself during the night with EAS enabled?
