Hi, I have a problem with my eas on my p38, on half an hour of driving it today it did not fully come off bump stops. I could hear the pump working. Thing is its ok now. I did this a couple of months ago and then was ok so did not get it fixed. Any ideas?

I cannot afford to get it fixed at the moment, and need it to get to work, is there any way to take out a fuse or disable the eas so it does not deflate when parked and just keeps a standard amount of air in the bags so the pump doesn't have to keep pumping up the suspension??

Thanks for reply Derek, so this would keep the existing air in the air bags would it and keep it at the same ride height??

Only if you have no leaks at all which would be a tad unusual. Providing your air bags are in reasonable condition though, it should last you for a few days at least. Removing the fuse or relay totally disables the EAS ECU and will stop it trying to self level. It will also stop it pumping up and raising as well though. I have a manual inflation kit on mine but I can't for the life of me remember where I bought it from. It's a lifesaver. Got me home from Scotland to Lancashire with a eas hard fault up (Slow 35mph etc). I can't look in the receipts as I'm not at home at the moment. It'd be worth a trawl through the various suppliers though as it wasn't expensive and took only a couple of minutes to fit. It would temporarily solve your problem.

Anyone out there know where you can buy the manual inflation kits?

possibly one of the bags had dislocated from the cone, so air just leaks straight out the huge gap created... Mine has done it once or twice, on cold mornings and luckily my driveway has big potholes and speed bumps so driving along it relatively quickly re seats them, and all is well... Would kindof make sense?

just a maybe, I'm no expert, just trying to relate your symptoms to my experiences

Plenty of them on ebay. Mine came with some fitted and I hate them. They've been the cause of so many leaks and I've never had to use them.

If it's taking that long to come up, it sounds like your pump needs an overhaul. But if it's dropping in the first place it suggests you have a leak which is probably why the pump needs an overhaul.

I left it on full height last night and it didnt drop overnight so not sure if theres a leak. I took out fuse and its staying at the standard ride height, but its just annoying as it beeps saying max 35 mph now! I'm just a bit worried its going to play up when i put the fuse in and forget what height its at?!
