Having rebuilt the valveblock and EAS compressor I'm curious as to the heat that these compressors pump out. "ha".

After a run with the car in standard, alternating between standard/Motorway it was sat at 68c,

A suggestion from an esteemed member was to leave it locked in Motorway, which indeed did stop it adjusting and as a result the compressor is around 40c

From what I can gather the compressor is never going to run cold due to

(1) the engine sat next to it, pumping out heat
2 it being sat in a box with heat all around it!
3 The unit itself doesn't exactly have any way to cool down

My Bus is 100% air tight, only problem is I can't hear the pump due to it being almost silent, the main reason i'm comparing heat instead of run times!

What i was wondering was if anyone who's willing would be to check the heat of their compressors after a run..?

I understand most don't have an IR termo.

A simple "**** thats hot" would be good or..

It's cooler than an eskimo's bollocks. etc ;)

or anything inbetween!

bastard thing was looking all nice outside work today, in access mode!

10mi later I get EAS fault..

And these faults appear.

Compressor was freezing cold..

Cleared the fault and it was fine?!

Any ideas?

Does it know what the FR valve is doing orit it based on the height sensor reading?
To be honest I have no idea.
I didn't check the height sensor readin

It just threw a wobbly, I cleared the fault and it was/is fine..

I'll take it for a hoon tomorrow and see if the fault reappears, if it does I'll clear it and swap it for a nice Xj308 for sale up the road.. ;) :) :D

Pfft the only decent jagwarr made in the last 20 years was the xkrr

XKR is nice although rear wings disintegrate.

Could just be a dodgy height sensor. Can you take a trace with the EAS Unlock software? Or maybe test resistance changes smoothly across it with DVM as you move it across the range of movement.

EDITED:
In my experience the "Valve Stuck Closed" fault is logged when the ECU tries to adjust a corner height, but car doesn't move. Combining this with the "Cannot lower FR" then it's most likely bad connections between driver pack & solenoids.

Note: valve stuck closed combined with cannot raise fault is usually not enough air in tank, but equally could be other combinations of leaks, air & bad connections !!

Nonsense if the same valve is stuck open and closed at the same time it's bad comms with diag.
