Earthing strap locations??

Hi guys.

I know there's an earthing strap near gearbox but where are the other main earthing points as i may need to make sure there clean and renew.

Mine has two earth cables from the battery. Both go through out through a hole in the side of the battery box, one to the gearbox, which looks like a brass bolt to me. The other is to the chassis, which is a longish bolt right through the chassis rail.

thanks mate.. will have a good look tomorrow.
I did notice 2 large holes to the rear top of the batter compartment but neither has anything running through it. I just blanked them off to prevent noise and water ingress.

any idea if thats where yours go through?

where the heck on the door is that!!
ive only seen the door hinges attached back there

Most have one earth of the battery to the chassis which then jumps to the gearbox onto one of the bolt that fix the xfer to the main box, then on the off side of the xfer is a small earth point and about three on the bulkhead. TD5 has one in the under seat box below the engine ECU.

when we did the gear box and transfer box i know i saw one below the battery box ajoining gearbox but i don't recall seeing any others.
looks like i'm gonna have to do some serious hunting about.

i take it i'm best to find these, unbolt, clean area, grease and re fix in order to get best poss performance?

Think my 90 only had battery earth to gearbox strap. Just put some more on yaself, from engine to chassis and chassis to bulkhead.

No, definitely through the side. There is a hole at the back but not used for anything. I haven't bothered blanking it off.
