Been having a few problems whith what seems Could be bad Earths after reading up and getting loads of advice from here.
After cleaning my old ones up and not really seeing much difference Gonna fit a couple of New Earth Straps in my 90, to see if they liven things up a bit. Where is the best place to run them from? do I run one from the battery?
Thanks

My main one off the battery runs to the gearbox, I've then ran this to the chassis and one from the alternator to the chassis. I cleaned up the areas around the bolts to ensure a good contact and the put copper grease on all the contacts.

I was thinking about this the other night
as thats one of the things i didnt take a pic of when i strip the landy
any chance you can post pics when done ?

Should the transmission be joined to chassis on the same bolt as the one coming from the battery, If you know what I mean, Then a separate one from Alternetor to chassis.

Usually a separate earth from chassis to bell housing which earths the alternator along with the whole engine.

on defenders earth strap comes from battery to chassis to transmission ,starter alt etc earth through that if its good, people add other as it fails

I have used those in the past but they do tend to get full of dirt and oil from being underneath the car so I've used the enclosed ones as they're only about 50p more

I would agree with that, definitely go for the sealed ones if you can find them, they have a much better shelf life underneath the vehicle
