I had my 04 TD5 Discovery remapped by Dynachip today...... if you were in any doubt about having it done to yours, DONT BE!! Get it done. :D

had mine done by them 2 weeks ago, nothing but praise for the guy, cost £250 as he had to solder a new chip into the ecu, if you have 1 of the later ecu's it's £225,

Mike's just left with my cheque for £225 - best money i've spent in a long while.

Pulls like a train, revs higher than it's ever done and mooches around at 1,000rpm in 5th!

Also did a diagnostic test, found a faulty air flow meter, advised on other mod's to help and found a loose clip that was driving me mad!

If you've got a spare bundle don't hesitate.

must say i`m tempted after reading various posts and threads.
might sound boring, but i`d only be interested if it improved mpg signifently.
once you guys get bored with flooring it, let us know of any mpg improvement.
ta.

I think Mike can set different levels of performance/consumption depending on your requirement so it's worth having a chat. If it's purely a financial benefit you're looking for then I suppose you need to calculate the 'payback'.

Had my 2000 manual done some while back i am so pleased with the result he has just done my fiat van and wow what a difference more marked than the disco better torque more miles per gallon well worth the money.

i intend keeping the td5 for a long time and i can`t see fuel costs coming down. so thanks for the info. i`ll give him a call some time.

Well had my Disco remapped by Mike yesterday.... very pleased with the result.

I don't think the car is gonna win any performance awards, as its clearly not designed to be a racer, however, that said, what a difference it has made. It feels so much more useable, with noticeably more grunt and holds the revs a little longer than before, it really has transformed into much better all round car.

The whole process was complete in less than an hour and we were able to diagnose a couple of other minor issues such as oil in the ECU loom  and a faulty MAF ....

Overall, very happy and Mike's a nice bloke as well, which makes it all the better. He is very knowledgeable and down to earth... top bloke

SP ;)

Everyone seems to speak very highly of the remapping done by Dynachip

Has anyone got any knowledge or views on whether it is a wise thing to do on a high mileage vehicle?? My 1999 TD5 is coming up for 200k miles. Generally well maintained and running ok, but seems pretty gutless......can't really decide whether it has always been like this or it has got worse over the years
