right as some of you may know i have just changed the engine on my s3, when i send the v5 to dvla to have the engine number changed do i have to send the reciept for the engine with it or anything?
are they going to be difficult or is this routine?

I'd send a copy of the reciept if I was you. what has you got to lose? If they don't need it they can send it back:rolleyes:

When I put a 200tdi in my 90td I sent with the V5 a copy of the reciept for the replacement motor, they wrote back saying more information was needed, and that I should send them a reciept for the work done to install the engine by a garage. As I had fitted it myself I could not and wrote to say so.About four months later a new V5 turned up.Could be a problem if your selling the vehicle.

One day i will tell them about my tdi, but as my insuanace company know i dont see any problems apart from the mentioned selling problem.

they took 10 weeks and plenty of phone calls to eventually write to me to ask me for more information - so i formally complained and the person dealing with my confirm apologised and returned by updated V5 with no further info required!

I've got this effort to go through, fortunately there's a friendly local MOT garage with a tester that is into landys, and if that fails a friend of the family runs a garage so I can get a letter no problem- might be worth a shout if all else fails!
