the black pastic part in the inner wing. undo wing top vent screws, it sort of holds it on.

OK, can do that, will leave it till the morning now as its getting dark.

This is going to be a really useful thread for the mechanically challenged :D:D

Thank you

Im yet to connect mine but im sure theres pieces missing?

I bought the landy with snorkel fitted but theres nothing on the back of it (inside the wing)

All i have is that ^^^ and a round pipe going to a K&N air filter.

What am i missing because round pipes dont connect to square holes (on snorkel) very well lol

Does this make sense what ive said?

No idea about the mechanical stuff, however it was interesting when I ordered mine. The first place I spoke to asked me if I wanted it to work or just wanted an ornament. Apparently a lot of people fit them just cause they look good, not to work, sounds like your might be one of them

Mine is a 20otdi and the internal bits are there anyway, they just need sealing. Not sure what yours is.

Help

Have taken the bracket and the air thing off, still cant get to it.

I think the heater is going to have to go. Anyone with a 200tdi know how to do that

it's a royal pain getting heater box out.

Thank you, on mine it goes under the heater, really really wishing I had never started this now. Trouble is I might as well carry on, I need to reconnect the hose even if I dont bother with the snorkel :(

OK I give up, there is no way to get at this part without removing more of the Landy.

Will it be OK to put the air filter back and allow it to take air in through the pipe for a short distance, so I can take it to a garage. I cant get it back together properly

Thought I had better finish this thread off.

Thanks to nrgserv it is now fitted and working :D Which was really good of him as they had been working on racing cars all weekend.

You all know I'm no good at mechanics, but even so fitting this is not an easy DIY job on the 200tdi.

Neil ended up taking the wheels and wheel arch and I think bottom of the wing off to get this on.

So anyone finding this thread on a search, be warned

Anyway, here it is :D:D:D

Oh and another thing I found from research, one company asked if I actually wanted it to work. Apparently a lot of people just bolt them on cause they look good. Wonder how many people think they have a snorkel but dont really

didnt you say afterwards,
"i could probably have finished that myself"
:p

edit-
although a few anomolies with the kit bought, including-
instructions were a 300 tdi,
plate bolts thru wing not long enough if the supplied gasket was fitted,
instructions state nut and bolt for window brackets, ended up drilling and tapping to suit,
window brackets needed altering as they lined the window tube up perfectly for the flexi tube to foul the window bracket,
plastic tie thing (dunno what their called) only just long enough for flexi pipe to screen tube,
plastic tie thing (as above) not long enough for flexi pipe to wing mount,
lack of info on sealing the system drain holes.

Yes, but I meant putting the windscreen washer, air thing and stuff back. Not the snorkel bit :p:p.

I was congratulating myself on dismantling everything in order and saving the bits together so I knew which bolt went where. (except the hoses of course
)

similar to the 300tdi one I got on mine (300s easier to fit, no heater stuff in the way :) )

I used the instructions as a guide, and fitted it to my own way, for a start the measurements given for drilling and fitting the brackets would have hit the reinforcement.
No info on sealing any existing pipework either, just the snorkel new stuff.
the wing fitting on mine wasnt bolted though, it you drilled the wing/inner plastic bit and fitted those clip on cage things and then used screws.
