I know it sounds daft but which fuse relates to the fag lighter in my disco 04 can't make it out on case and don't have owners handbook.
It's stopped working any other ideas cheers Nick.

Lifted this from the Rave manual:

"Cigar Lighter
Cigar Lighter Description
The cigar lighter is located in the centre console. The socket accepts a
standardized plug type. The lighter is operated by depressing the centre of the lighter which latches the heated element into the holder.

Cigar Lighter Supply
Circuit supply
A feed from the battery positive terminal is connected by a R wire to the engine compartment fusebox, where it passes to fusible link 8 and fusible links 1 and 7 which are connected in series. The feed from fusible link 7 is connected to the auxiliary circuits relay mounted in the engine compartment fusebox.
The feed from fusible link 8 is connected to the passenger compartment
fusebox on an NW wire and from the fusebox to the ignition switch on an N
wire.

Ignition switch supply
When the ignition switch is in position I or II, the feed from fusible link 8 flows
through the ignition switch) to the passenger compartment fusebox on an LGW wire. The feed continues through fuse 26 and is connected by an LG wire to the auxiliary circuits relay. The feed passes through the auxiliary relay coil and is connected to earth header C0018, via header C0285 LHD/C0288 RHD on a B wire."

Nick, Did you ever get this issue sorted? Same has just happened on my 2004 TD5 Disco. Would be interested to know as I've checked the ciggy lighter fuse in the fuse bank below the steering wheel and found that it hasn't failed, so confused as to what to do next.

Cheers,,,, Brian

There is a header joint in the loom that is between the fuse and the lighter. This appears to fail quite regularly, giving symptoms as described.

Our own Disco 2 has the problem.

When the weather improves I'm going to pull the fuse panel and loom out to see if the header is accessible or not.

Peter, I've just had a peek at the Rave manual. Seems there is an earth header under the carpet above the pedals. Presumably the header is just a local earth point? Wonder what needs to be unfastened to get the bloody thing??!!

There is indeed an earth header, but what I was referring to is the connection in the loom on the positive feed from the fuse.
