Seriously now.
Same happened to me with my 1996 Disco. Purchased a new seat diaphragm from Jphn Craddock for £34. inc VAT and delivery. Not a big job to remove seat and disconnect electrics for seat belt light. Temporarily all I did as a stopgap was remove seat drill holes on each side of the split and use cable ties. Meant the seat coming out twice but the new diaphragm was well worth it.
