It has been a while, my P38 was waiting with a dead battery for 3 months (because I got a company car - free fuel compared to a 4.6!!!) and now I decided to bring her back to life. The only problem is she is steering to right, no matter what I did I could not solve the issue (bought new tires, rods, everything). Then I went to a shop with a laser equipment, and I saw that my right wheel is backwards by 6mm:

Then I went to a shop to correct it and they suggested to place a spacer to the red circled area since the problem is small:

What do you think & suggest?

6mm is not much....youd get that in the movement in bushes so I doubt thats your problem.

If it was ok before and now it pulls after sitting Id be looking at a sticky brake.

I can see them fine Wammers, he's saying to put the spacer on the end of the radius arm bushing, to force the axle forward a bit.

I'd have thought replacing the bushings with new would be the best thing to do. Messing with the steering geometry like that can't be a good thing can it?

Bushes are pretty new, so I am sure something is bent, but it is too small and we can not find what is damaged, there is no visible damage. I am worried about messing with the steering geometry as MrGorsky mentioned but can not find which part is damaged and it is steering right (not so bad but it is still steering). BTW it was like this before leaving her in the parking space..

Time to get your tape measure out and check the radius arm length, but I think if you have bent it you would certainly remember the impact. What is the bracket that takes the rear of the radius arm like? Is there any wear on the axle bracket ? ie. elongated bolt holes. Is there any wear on the mounting bolts? I would be inclined to replace the rear rubber bushes if everything else checks out:)

You say the bushes are new. Who changed them and are they the silly poly bushes? Or proper ones. If they are poly bushes or for that matter proper ones just slacken the O/S front axle mounts and reverse the car with a chock under the back of the O/S front wheel then retighten. If that does not do it do same to N/S but with chock under front of wheel and drive forwards against it then retighten.

PS. The garage you went to are dickheads.

Unfortunately they are yellow poly britpart ones  Excuse my English but I could not understand what you tell me to do, what is O/S & N/S ?

BTW it can not be the brakes since it was the same before leaving her at the parking space..

O/S = Offside = right hand side in Uk, N/S = nearside = left hand side in Uk.

The bolts that hold the axle mounts in place are NOT a precision fit in either the axle mounts or the bush sleeves. There is slop in them. If one side is tightened with the slop aft and one with the slop forwards the axle will be out of line. 1 mm total slop in either side will be amplified at the wheel. Poly bushes maybe easier to fit but i personally would never use them.

Its been a while, I am still waiting for a replacement battery from warranty, will check the slop, thanks..
