I have just bought a Freelander, its a 2001 1.8 and has only done 56000 miles but it seems to only be doing 20mpg:eek:, i know these petrol versions aren't meant to be super frugal on juice but bloody hell, surely 30mpg would be more like the norm?
Is this right or do i have a 'Drink Problem' if so are there any suggestions as to what it may be, the car runs very well and starts perfectly.
If this is the norm then i may as well have bought a V8 Range Rover:D

We had a petrol a few years back, it averaged about 27mpg, if i remember correctly the official figures are 21 around town 27 average 32 on a run or how ever they put it these days. So if you are nipping to the papershop and not going very far the 20mpg, would be about right. If you want 30+ mpg then the diesel will do that easy.
