This morning when I went out to the RR to take my other half in she noticed a small puddle just behind the drivers side front wheel. It looks a little green but I put that down to the road being dirty and the condensation dripping down - something all the cars in the street do.

I've just been out with the dog and noticed a fresh damp patch just behind the drivers front wheel. The car is parked in a different location so I know it's not the same one. Looking underneath the car at this point I can see that it's all quite wet and, if I feel around in the drivers foot well, there is a slight dampness. Also happened to notice that the coolant is really quite low too.

Would this be the o-rings problem I've read about?

It does sound like they have started to weep. To clarify if you remove your foot well panel (the one above the peddles with the light) and what i did was tape a sheet of white A4 paper to the carpet under the heater matrix join where the O rings are and if you get any drips on the paper guess what your doing this weekend ;)

The jobs not that hard just allow plenty of time.. and get the proper O rings!!

Hope that helps you.

Well, i think you may be right though I'm not sure the 'puddle' under the car can be attributed to this as the amount's don't seem sane unless it's making its way out of the car somewhere unseen.

I'm sorry but that looks exactly like the O rings.

your first picture actually looks to be around the same place as the expansion tanks over fill pipe comes out... have you recently topped your coolant up and maybe put to much in? youd have a soaking carpet if that much was coming out onto the floor via your heater matrix O rings

best plan to do them ASAP if you lift the actual drivers side carpet youll see that its basically a sponge this will soak up all of the coolant and it'll stay there. you don't want ANY coolant finding its way under the drivers seat where all the electrics are!!

No recent top ups at all. I did travel to Newcastle and back on Friday but that's the last big journey I've done. Over the weekend it was only small trips back and forth to local shops.

Last coolant top up was easily over a week ago.

I'll get some o-rings ordered from ebay!

Ok then, if you can make sure they are Genuine O rings when i did mine they cost about six quid bit steep for O rings but at least you know its right.

good luck let us know how it goes...
