Trying to replace the exhaust system but can't get the 3 nuts holding the down pipe to the manifold to let go tried freeze spray, impact, brute force and swearing at them and drinking tea.now got heat as a weapon but if this also fails will a nut splitter fit if so which and can I remove the manifold with the down pipe still attached?.

Now that sounds like fun...even better if you hit the same spot on your next blow.going to have a go at it (with heat) tomorrow.

I rounded them the first time I did a 300.
The next time i made sure I had a good six point socket, a breaker bar, and a pipe to stick on the end of it (different engine, equally as stuck)

With enough force, either something else will break, or it will come undone. But remember the six point socket.

Spray everything with Plus Gas numerous times over a few days then on your back under the car with a 6 point socket on a long extension or two and if you do not have an Impact gun, a long breaker bar with a pipe over the end if needed, or a shorter one that you can hit with a hammer to shock the nuts loose. The use of heat ( Oxy acteyline ) always works, but I do not have this, so Air Tools were my best investment, as I think battery tools are very good and more convienient, but do not use them enough to justify the cost of replacement batteries after a few years use. Your choice

Regards
Jonathan
