I have a 1997 110 defender csw and i am thinking of converting it to a double cab! in theory it should be possible! Has anyone done it?

I fookin hate double cabs. They remind me of everything that's nasty about jap motors. Please don't ruin a perfectly good 110 by turning it into a tasteless monstrosity.

 do a search on here  (i dont know how to do a link thingy) by alane in look what i just done , he,s done it an it looks a good job

 :D :D don,t listen to hughsey either he knows nothing about style obviously :D :D

I wanted to do this too, but i dont want to bodge it, and the double cab roofs cost a fortune, the used TD5 one i bidded on sold for over £800. Im not gona do it now, partly because i dont want to do all that work on a 21 year old landy, but mostly because i dont want to split the load space in half ( how would i sleep in it? )

I know someone did something similar (I think he started with a 130, and used a CSW as a donner vehicler for parts, why do things the easy way) and one surprise he found is that the rear seat (centre row in CSW) is different and wouldn't fit the double cab.

I still like the idea of converting as it would be better for the dogs in back, however i keep thinking about losing the load space!!!!!! decisions decisions!!!
