Drivers door. The 2 hinges are fine but in the middle between them is what I would describe as maybe the door stay? The bit that stops the door in two different positions? Anyway if you can follow me the part that's supposed to be fixed to the inner car (as opposed to the door) is now moving meaning opening the door makes a noise as it moves about. I cant see how to fix it to be honest. Is it bolted on or welded?

Sierraferry I have had a look at this and still don't fully understand it sorry. Its the bit in the front wing that seems to have come loose and I have removed the trim to the drivers footwell but cant get to the back of it. Is the part you show in your part number in the door itself or in the front wing?

On our td5 a previous owner has had the restraining stay mtg bracket welded to the A pillar - presumably similar failure to yours

Having done a bit more digging now I'm back from holiday I think it is not exactly unknown! I find myself sliding into the driver seat via a barely open door just to avoid the loud noise!
