Hi All,

Here I am again, only had the 110 for 3 days and so many posts!!!

This time it's door seals. The door sill seals have rotted away and previous owner has done nothing about it, so some rust has taken over. I've got the part number for the sill seals (MWC6128, 9 & 10), but there's a metal channel/lip behind them and 3 of the 4 have rotted. Anyone know what these are called and a part number would be helpful. Looks like you just screw or rivet both in, after I've applied some POR 15 rust inhibitor paint.

Your help/advice is much appreciated.

Jonah (the discoverer of rot!!!)

That metal lip is part of the sill channel. You need to buy new sills to replace these.

I recenetly removed both of mine and gave them a good clean up paint etc... I completly reconstructed the drivers side sill and just did the passengers side sill up a bit.

When you say 'sills' do you mean the u-shaped steel section that runs from the bottom outside edge of the bulkhead along to the rear tub?

The seal lip on Mine has rotted away too and needs replacing, Seems like a lot of work replacing the whole sill section.

Piccies now available, see attached.

I don't think the sills need replacing, seem solid enough. The channel looks like it's screwed, riveted in like the rubber seal. I'm of the opinion to clean, use POR 15 paint to stop the rust and then simple attach new seals. Not too sure what the metal lip does anyway.

MWC6128,9 & 30 are correct as my deafener is 1992 J reg. Any one now the cheapest place to buy these????

Ta

Jonah

The plate at the back near the grey carpet is a plate that attaches to seat box, but it's the 2 bits - rubber and metal seal retainer that I need to replace.
Rubber code I have but now need the metal retaining plate code to enable me to buy it?

Thanks

Jonah
