Door Open Warning Light.

Hi Can anyone advise,my 03 Freelander door open warning light is flashing even when all doors are secure,We reckon its the drivers side rear which is causing the problem,yesterday the window mech failed.I can deal with that but not sure about the door light.Any help much appreciated.

which window mech has failed ? is it the same door ?

if it's the same door, would be looking at the wiring harness for fraying/damaged/or lost earth

the ecu can sense when the tailgate window isn't fully up and will cause the door open light to be on. not sure if this is the same for door windows, don't think it is.

could also be bonnet switch,. and if you have a 3 door, there is also a micro switch which senses when the roof is removed, these sometimes play up.
