I have over the last few weeks done quite a bit of research and fiddling with the door actuators front on a p38. What I now have is that the electric motors are shot ( I now have 4 knackered ones) so ignoring them what I have is that the c/l will work and lock the rear and tailgate but only if the door I am using is open when the door is closed it wont activate the c/l. I have done this with the locks stripped down and using only the microswitches so I can ignore the actual lock mechanism I just cant get my head round it - is it the becm that is not getting the right signal from the outstation need help guys my brain is fried :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Sounds as though the outstation is foobah'd - it's that which sends the BECM signal to lock/unlock. One microswitch for lock/unlock, the other for BECM, checking other doors/windows/sunroof/tail open or closed. I'd look into another outstation, then replace door motors........should do the trick!
