Hi

My drivers side door lock has thrown in the towel and got a replcement from a breaker but its different. Mine has a lead coming out of it with a plug and one single black wire but the sh one I have has 2 sockets on the bottom of the lock my original plug will fit the socket but the other socket has 2 pins and I only have one wire left. The door will super lock but the interior lights dont come on when I open the door....................it did before.

Got all that ?

Any ideas are welcome

Steve

try pressing the interior light button and holding if for a few seconds and see if related maybe coincidence i did have the same prob but cant remember what i done sorry but would try the lights first as may be nothing

Sorry cant help much afraid it sounds as if it was more a wiring problem if the lock mechanism was working usually the motor give up or the single black wire connectors give a bad connection check all the connections from the door outstation to the lock mine are the same as yours so cant help with the other connector

Thanks for the input. I've come to the conclusion that its not compatible as it won't unlock the boot or switch the interior light on, so I've replaced the old one until a new one comes up. On the bright side I can change the lock assembly in 15 mins Inc the door card. ;)

have you taken your original lock apart and cleaned the inside and regreased it will probably solve the problem there are two micro switches that need the surrounding area cleaned and you can operate the lock whilst open to see whats not working the drivers one has lever n one side for the lock and on the other side for the alarm clean all the connections its worth a go also check the connections on the outstation there waas also a post where someone could lock their doors just by moving the wiring in the door

Hiya mate I had the same kind of problem last winter,it ended in me changeing the door lock mechanism[I put it down to 1 of the 3 micro switches inside]The good news is that I bought a unit second hand and it was the wrong part,if you get in touch i will send it to you if it matches yours. Its from a P38. but they vary.
