Hi there
2000 P38 on LPG
n/s front door won't open even though the button goes up and down with the central locking. The suspension is also down. Are these connected? and whats the answer.
Many thanks
Dave

They are not connected unless the EAS ECU has worked it's way out from under the passenger seat and got hold of the locking mechanism.
For the EAS do the soapy water spray test, you most likely have a leak, probably an airbag if they are original. Door sounds like the linkage is off.

Both or all 4 if all are of same age ,quite a straight forward job look on here loads of info to guide you through.

Thanks for that.
What kind of a job is it to replace the airbag and would you recomend doing just the leaking one or both on the same axle

Always replace both on the same axle, idealy replace all 4 because if one is shot it is likely the others also need replacing. In principle it's an easy job but some of the early airbags had alloy end caps which corrode in place making them hard to remove, even the plastic ones may need a little persuasion with a crow bar to come free at the top. PM me with an email address if you want a guide to changing them with photo's.
