Hello,

After taking doors side steps etc off to respray my passenger door so far has about 1mm clearance at the top and 15mm at the bottom, have tried adjusting the door to death. Have googled for an hour to realise that the large outrigger bolt I removed may of had shims in it to align the bulkhead better than it is now. Does anyone have any info on shim placement or is it the case of trial and error to see what works?

Why did you take the bulkhead outrigger bolt out, just to remove the door?
Did you not see the shims/washers fall out when you pulled the bolt out?
As the door acts like a cantilever, a small amount of movement at the bulkhead/hinge end creates a large amount of movement at the other.

Put a jack under the bulkhead to stop it from dropping. Remove bolt & make space for the washers. Re fix bolt, tighten then reload check you may need to add more.
