Door close and open when im driving.

Hi folks i have a p38 4.6 Auto. I have a problem with door that open and close itsefl when im driving. Another problem that i see is when i open the dore an put the key in ingnition i see a message on dashboard Alarm Fault. What could be??? I don use remote to open and close the car. Can i syncronise another keyfob from another rangie with my rangie????

Answer to last question is NO. You may like to check the linkages on the door sill buttons, if they are bouncing around that will cause doors to lock and unlock.

Also check the connector to the boot release button, they corrode and can also cause the locks to cycle.

They have said exactly what I would say. The doors are trying to lock and unlock as you go along, check the wiring loom on the left hand door. I disconnected mine and it stopped the locks doing this (early one has a pig tail loom, later goes into the lock direct). It's because someone is heavy handed and slammed the door, the microswitches within the locks are only so good. You cannot disconnect the drivers as it is needed for the control of the central locking. But if it's doing it all the time then which ever door you disconnect will stop it happening. Get a copy of RAVE to see the wiring loom for the car.
