Hi guys I’ve been on a bit of a mission with the landy lately, I don’t really have many hobbies these days and like to have a tinker, I’ve fitted new door check straps tonight, and new rubber bump stops inside the runners to stop the door opening too far however this still hasn’t cured the check straps hitting the door seals ever so slightly, looks like it’s been doing it from the day it was made has anyone found a way to stop this ( little tip would be to take the straps off and the plastic cover and turn them rubber stopper things around and put them back in )

Think my 200 has always done it.
Just changed door seals as they had worn at the checkstrap area, lasted 10 or so years.

But if you stop it touching the seal you will also stop it developing the nice crease dent in the roll of the a-pillar from where the door opens too far! All land rover have that!

You could cut one of your original rubbers in half and fit that too ?
Mine just toches (with new rubbers).

You can get packers for under the door hinges to move the door out.
How is the fit of the door otherwise ?[/QUOTE mate you are a hero, I fitted two of them rubbers but it was to much fur it to open properly so took one out I may put a little more on ( cut one )as my seals are original but messed around fur ages with that spring thing which holds the door now seems to be better than it was thank you

My landy was owned by the raf before me the truck has low miles but I think the doors were opened pretty frequently over the 10 odd years they had it
