Hello, I'm a new member.
Having just spent loads on a new clutch, I've got a 1.8 Freelander (3-door) which needs a new barrel lock for the driver's door. It was working yesterday and this morning but, all of a sudden for some unknown reason, I can't get the key in the lock now. (By the way, my key fob only works intermittently - but will try a new battery) I've been told that I need to order the barrel lock from a main dealer by quoting the chasis number. I assume that this could be expensive. Can anyone explain why this part has to come from a main dealer?
