Having replaced my 19J with a 200tdi (which needed a new turbo and loads of other parts), I decided to remove the rear tub etc. to get good access to the chassis for painting and rustproofing. Whilst I can get to it, I'll just remove the transfer box to check the input shaft splines me thinks....to find this..... Now I have a gearbox rebuild on my hands too. There is some good news however, I think I can re-use the original wheel

nuts and handbrake lever ;-)

That mileage is close to when mine gave up completely some years ago. Rebuilt box went in with the cross drilled gear.
.Shame is Land Rover made the same mistake fitting Puma model MT82 gearbox to transferbox and they are now suffering the same failure.
