How does one the timing of the pump and the flywheel with the engine in on a defender 200tdi.

Saw chris's Landrover ToolBox videos and it looks so easy as he does it with the engine out.

How does one know where the pin sits exactly on the flywheel slot. Getting the pin in the pump is not a problem.

Appreciate some help. I the paddocks timing kit. Now want to get the defender timed correctly.

If you take the cover off the timing belt, then align the bottom cog with the marks on the engine the slot in the flywheel should be just about in the right place so you can put the tool in.

The cheap timing kits off of ebay are very good
200tdi belt swap s a piece of **** only three potential issues
1, Making sure none of the 3 bolts that surround the water gallery snap.
2, getting the crank bolt undone if you have no power tool.
3, getting the crank damper puller off if you dont have the ebay kit.
