hi,my remote will not lock my rangie.ive replaced the batterys twice and it works a couple of times and then packs up again.it will work the immobiliser so i can start it for a while after that but then completely packs up with no notice.any ideas?

my wipers have jammed half way up the windscreen and wont move.ive checked the fuse and its ok and getting power.im assuming there are relays somewhere i can check.is there a way i can check the switch and motor without dismantling half the interior.

Ok, ignore the waffle about RL-1 relay - that's for a P38.
The remote sounds to have something internally draining the battery. If it's all clean and dry in there with no signs of corrosion or green on the circuit board, you may have to take it to an audio/alarm installation shop. They may have someone who's come across them before. I suspect however you'll probably need a new one (if you can get them?).

It looks as though you ain't getting any power to the wiper motor or the motor and/or linkage itself has seized. It would seem from Rave that the wiper is controlled either by the main switch or, when this is off, by the MFU through K185. I don't know when this would happen. My classic is a 1990 and doesn't have a MFU.

Access to the wiper motor and mechanism is by removing the 'Decker' panel which is the panel between the bonnet and windscreen. Full instructions in Rave.

well i got to the root of the problem.the motors stuffed.il get one tomorrow.my mates scrapping a disco will the motor from that fit?
also had it up on the lift today,2 small rust spots ,happy days the guy before me used bodyseal and waxoyl.i did however find the self levelling damper is leaking oil.is this a serviceable item or do i have to buy a new one?
